Jabez Good's Great,Great,Great, Nephew visits Burgh le Marsh
Following last Saturdays meeting at the mill of the Society of Lincolnshire History and Archaeology
where Eileen Chantry had given a talk about Jabez Good, Burgh's esteemed historical resident,
Doug Good, great, great, great nephew of Jabez Good, was e-mailed to let him know about the meeting and a series of e mails followed throughout this week with the result that Doug and his wife Janet would visit Burgh on Friday 11th September.
Arrangements were made and Doug brought Jabez's 1870 London Exhibition carving again which he brought to Burgh in September 2011 on the 100th anniversary of the death of Jabez Good which was commemorated with a Jabez Good Exhibition in the parish church. Doug and Janet had a tour around the mill and heritage collection and was followed by a most enjoyable lunch at the Windmill Restaurant.
