| Sylvia Hayley "Various Crafts": 2008 July 2nd |
| BURGH W.I had a demonstration of crafts and card making at the July meeting
with guest speaker Sylvia Hayler who was welcomed by the President June
Smith. Over the years Mrs Hayler has raised thousands of pounds for charities
through the sale of goods and through various fund raising events. She was
thanked by Pam Haine. Winners of the favourite picture competition were Pamela Vessey, Audrey Chatterton and Pam Haines. The bloom of the month winners were Sheila Chappell, Margaret Williamson and Leila Ladd. At the meeting on Wednesday September 3 Eileen Chantry will speak of her childhood memories of the 1940's and 50's. The competition is A candlestick. |
