Burgh W.I. Celebrating 100 years of the W.I. Organisation
The NFWI hosted its Annual Meeting at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 4 June 2015.
In celebration of the WI's centenary, the event was streamed live via the internet a first for the W.I.
HM The Queen, HRH The Princess Royal, and HRH The Countess of Wessex attended this year's very special meeting.
HM The Queen is President of Sandringham WI, HRH The Princess Royal is a long-standing NFWI Associate,
and HRH The Countess of Wessex is a member of Bagshot WI.
The three speakers were Lucy Worsley, English historian, curator and television presenter
on history; Helena Morrissey, CEO of Newton Investment Management; and Tanni Grey-Thompson, British former wheelchair racer, parliamentarian and television presenter.
The Lord Mayor of London also made an appearance to welcome guests to the meeting, and the winners of the Centenary Choir Competition gave a performance.
An important element was the proposed resolution with W.I. members giving their accounts of the pros and cons
for the meeting to vote on

Assessment of need in long term care
This meeting calls on HM government to remove the distinction between nursing care and personal
care in the assessment of the needs of individuals, in order to advance health and wellbeing.
A delicious buffet was served during the break for lunch
